MINDFULNESS FOR WORKPLACE WELLNESS

An invitation to participate in a Mindfulness Information Session

An urgent call for Workplace Mindfulness Intervention

A comprehensive report in 2015 by Safe Works Australia found that mental stress compensation claims are the most expensive type of claims due to extended periods of absence from work, costing $430 million per year in Australia. Chronic job stress is the cause of 90% of mental stress claims. Stress at work is a complex problem leading to a 41% productivity drop. Furthermore, occupational stress negatively impacts organisational performance. These problems stimulate the need to implement robust workplace health promotion and prevention interventions. Research affirms that Mindfulness Intervention Training (MIT) helps to improve individual and organisational performance.

Over to you……What would it mean to help your employees reduce stress, improve performance and overall wellbeing?

If it means helping your staff . . .

  • To reduce anxiety and overwhelm
  • Improve staff productivity and performance
  • Enhance resilience, memory and ability to cope with difficult situations
  • Make effective decisions and increase creativity

Neuroplasticity:

Research findings shows that mindfulness can physically change brain structures.

What is Mindfulness?

Here is a simple pictorial explanation

Mindfulness is “The awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally”

~ John Kabat Zinn ~

Benefits of Mindfulness

The purpose of this session is to introduce you to Mindfulness for stress reduction, improving performance, and enhancing overall wellbeing.

Mindfulness should no longer be considered a “nice-to-have” for executives. It’s a “must-have: a way to keep our brains healthy, to support self-regulation and effective decision-making capabilities, and to protect ourselves from toxic stress”.

The reasons for choosing the program was to explore mindfulness and see how it can benefit our employees. The benefits of learning the concepts of Mindfulness were great and I found that it Is a great tool to relax and increase our ability to regulate emotions, decrease stress and anxiety. It can also help us to focus our attention, as well as to observe our thoughts and feelings.
